Hi and welcome to Educator Mum! I’m Abbie, founder of Educator Mum, a 29 year old mum living in the UK with my partner and 2 daughters aged 9 and 2. I am currently pregnant with baby number 3 due September this year.
A bit about me:
I am a stay at home mum with a background in early childhood development and primary education. At the end of 2022 I left classroom teaching to stay at home with my children. Since then, I have been using my knowledge and experience to set up play and learning experiences for my own children. I have created these experiences in order to best support their education at home. I realised I wanted to share this knowledge and these ideas with other parents around the world, and Educator Mum was born.
The why:
The aim of Educator Mum is to be a resource for parents who wish to support their child’s development and education within the home. This is for parents of babies, toddlers and older primary-aged children who are looking for inspiration and knowledge to best support their children at home. This blog aims to equip parents with the knowledge and skills to be confident in supporting their child’s development and education, whether that child is with a stay at home parent, attends nursery, is homeschooled or goes to public school.
As a parent, you are your child’s first and most important educator, from the moment they are born and well into adulthood. It is therefore crucial for parents to have a wealth of knowledge and ideas to support them in promoting their child’s development and education at home.
